A systematic review of the clinical manifestations and laboratory tests of NBOME ingestion revealed that blotter paper is the most common form found by users of this class of substances. NBOMes are often falsely sold as lysergic acid (LSD) which also commonly comes as blotter paper. The other listed drugs are found in other forms (e.g. packets for bath salts). 25-INBMOe is a highly potent 5 HT2A receptor agonist and can lead to a serotonergic syndrome (symptoms of which are described above). Labs can show anion gap, high K, lactic acidosis, and renal insufficiency. These effects are similar to those reported in users of bath salts, PCP, cocaine and other stimulants.
